An online auction featuring original artwork and fine crafts will open at noon Wednesday, Oct. 14, to benefit the Eureka Springs School of the Arts.
The auction is part of ESSA’s 24th annual Mad Hatter Ball, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, at the 1886 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. This year’s theme is “Secrets of the Sunken Kingdom.”
Bidding will continue through 8 p.m. Oct. 16. Anyone can participate online, and a ticket to the ball is not required to bid.
The collection includes ceramics, woodworking, jewelry, metalwork, glass and two-dimensional art donated by artists, craftspeople, instructors and supporters of the school. A full auction preview opens Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Proceeds will support ESSA, a nonprofit art and fine craft school on a 70-acre campus just outside Eureka Springs.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the artists who contribute their work to this auction,” ESSA executive director Kelly McDonough said.
McDonough said bidders help honor the artists’ work while making hands-on art experiences available to more people.
Shipping is available for most items. Shipping and pickup details are included in individual auction listings.
The Mad Hatter Ball is one of ESSA’s largest annual fundraisers. Founded in 1998, the school offers workshops for adults and youth, scholarships, artist residencies and free community programming.
