Merriest of the Merriest?

Eureka Springs is in the running to be the backdrop for a Hallmark movie.

The city has officially been named one of the Top 25 communities in Hallmark Channel’s “Merriest Christmas Towns” contest, putting Eureka Springs in the running to earn the designation of “Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Town” and the opportunity to serve as a filming location for a Hallmark movie.

The entry was the result of a collaborative effort by the Eureka Springs Christmas Committee, which brings together representatives from the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce, Eureka Springs City Advertising & Promotion Commission, Heart of Eureka, Eureka Springs City Hall, Eureka Springs Transit, Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation and Eureka Springs Public Works.

“Together, these organizations and departments help make the holiday season in Eureka Springs possible —from community events and promotion to decorations, transportation, public spaces, infrastructure, and the countless details that transform the city each Christmas season,” according to a release on the contest from the chamber. “Being selected for the Top 25 is an exciting recognition of that collective effort. Now, the next step belongs to the entire community: it’s time to vote.

“Residents, businesses, visitors, and everyone who loves Eureka Springs are encouraged to vote for Eureka Springs every day and share the contest with friends, family, customers, employees, and their own networks.”

“This is truly a community achievement,” said Devin Henderson of the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce. “Our Christmas Committee represents organizations and city departments that each bring something important to the table. Everyone worked together to tell the story of Christmas in Eureka Springs, and being selected as one of Hallmark’s Top 25 Merriest Christmas Towns shows what can happen when Eureka Springs comes together around a shared goal.”
