On Monday, Sept. 14, the Carroll County Community Band will begin rehearsals for the fall season. Musicians throughout the Northwest Arkansas area are invited and encouraged to become part of this local treasure.
The Carroll County Community Band is entering its 20th year of bringing quality instrumental music performances to the Ozarks. Members include retired musicians and music educators, active professional musicians, adults who simply want to pick up their horns to begin playing again, and high school students interested in developing their musical talents.
This cross-section of talent provides fertile ground for learning from each other, and culminates in at least two performances each year. Proceeds from the performances are used to send several high school members to summer band camp with money raised through sponsors, donations and ticket sales.
Rehearsals are held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday evenings in the Berryville High School band hall.
