The Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) is proud to announce the successful completion of its capital campaign, a regional effort to secure funding for the purchase of property adjacent to its existing campus. This achievement marks a transformational milestone for ESSA and the region it serves.
ESSA launched this ambitious campaign as the first phase of a larger, multimillion-dollar initiative supporting future growth, including new teaching studios, artist-in-residence spaces, community areas, and other enhancements. Launched in 2024 with a goal of $850,000, the phase-one campaign secured the land needed to ensure ESSA’s long-term ability to guide its own growth while significantly improving safety and accessibility for visitors. The newly purchased property is already being used as a new, safer campus entrance with additional parking and connectivity to the existing campus.
Contributions came from a far-ranging mix of contributors, including foundations, corporations, and individual donors from right here in Eureka Springs, throughout Arkansas, and across the country, including significant support from the Windgate Foundation. This broad investment highlights ESSA’s significance as both a local cultural institution and a regional and national destination for art and craft education.
Of the campaign, ESSA executive director Kelly McDonough says, “Our supporters, near and far, have ensured that ESSA can continue to support the creative community for generations to come. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed.”
With this milestone achieved, ESSA is poised to expand its facilities and strengthen its role as a creative hub for artists, students, and visitors. For more information about ESSA, upcoming programs, or ways to support its mission, visit essa-art.org.
