Good Shepherd plans Grand Opening for thrift store May 19
The Good Shepherd Humane Society will mark the official Grand Opening of its new thrift shop in Berryville with a ribbon cutting and event-filled day on Friday, May 19. GSHS invites the public to come join the celebration and enjoy prizes and surprises designed to say “thank you” to a supportive community.

Connect 4 Signing Day
Several seniors who have gone through the Connect 4 technical education program signed letters of intent Tuesday, April 25, with future employers and secondary educational institutions. C4 is a joint effort between the Eureka Springs, Berryville and Green Forest school districts.

Meyer takes 3rd in discus at district
Lady Highlanders junior Avery Meyer finished third in the girls discus competition at the 2A-1 district track and field championships on Wednesday, April 26, at Eureka Springs High School. Meyer threw the discus 75 feet, 2 inches.

The same day a familiar face was hired to lead the Eureka Springs City Adverting and Promotion Commission, a well-publicized member of the commission stepped down. At the CAPC’s regular meeting on Wednesday, April 26, finance director Scott Bardin, who has been interim tourism director the past three months, was unanimously picked to become the commission’s executive director.
