Two Highlanders named to All-State team The Eureka Springs Highlanders, who reached the Class 3A state tournament, had two players on the boys all-state soccer team: senior Leo Alpizar Garcia and his younger brother, junior Jose Alpizar Garcia. Local students make Dean’s List at NAC Leonardo Alpizar Garcia, Jose Alpizar, Henry Farrar, Melissa Galyen, Sarah McHattie and Eliza Parkman, all of Eureka Springs, have been named to the Dean’s List for part-time students for the spring 2023 semester at North Arkansas College in Harrison.

Honoring the Fallen

The American Legion’s Walker- Wilson Post 9 in Eureka Springs hosted its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 29, as post members and others gathered to remember military personnel who gave their lives in service to America. Ceremonies opened with the presentation of the colors by the post’s Honor Guard and a prayer led by post chaplain Ferguson Stewart.

Local students named to Spring Dean’s List in U of A’s Fulbright College Rory Evans, Patience Muniz and Heather Wilson, all of Eureka Springs, have been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 semester at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville’s Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.
