A local business has been honored by Reader’s Digest. Harold Elias-Perciful, who owns Treehouse Cottages with his wife, Barbara, said Reader’s Digest named the business one of its “25 Most Magical Treehouses in the World,” in May.

The Great Race

All manner of vintage cars passed through Eureka Springs on Wednesday, June 28, as part of the 2023 Great Race. The Great Race started in 1983, when 69 cars raced from Los Angeles to Indianapolis. Forty years later the event is still going strong, with a different route each year. This year’s race started June 24 in St. Augustine, Fla., and finished Sunday, July 2, in Colorado Springs. On the June 28 leg of the race, cars were traveling from Russellville to Joplin with a stop for lunch at Best Western Inn of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs.
