The Carroll County Community Foundation Board of Directors presented GivingTree Grants to 10 local nonprofits on Thursday, Oct. 13. Giving Tree is Arkansas Community Foundation’s signature program that supports a broad range of causes across our county and state – everything from critical issues to art and education.

This week’s Pet of the Week is Squirt, an easygoing black Labrador. Squirt is an older adult dog that is looking for someone to snuggle with after a good play session. Squirt is neutered and available for adoption. The Good Shepherd Humane Society Adoption Center on Highway 62 is open from noon to 5 p.m. every day.
The former Entergy building in Berryville apparently will soon be government property, but it won’t belong to Carroll County. Instead, the city of Berryville intends to purchase the building to house its police department.
