Once again the people of the Eureka area have shown their generosity

“I believe passing the petition to get the question on the ballot… At long last the commission will put more information out to the public. Get my drift. I’m not sure there will be enough signatures to place on the ballot…” So goes part of a text message sent to me from a signature collector of the petition to abolish the City Advertising and Promotion Commission (CAPC), also known as Local Issue #3.

My name is Ethan Avanzino. I’m a local business owner and a proud resident of Eureka Springs.

Once again area scouts, along with some help from other community minded groups, are gathering and getting ready for this years “Scouting for Food” drive. Every year the local Scouts help their community in a big way, and also learn firsthand about the values of giving, sharing and community spirit.

To the Editor, Boy Scout Troop 67 will begin their annual Scouting for Food Drive this weekend by placing bags on the front doors of residences in the Eureka Springs area. This food drive is one of the major efforts of the Flint Street Fellowship Food Pantry each year. We generally receive enough non-perishable goods to last us through the winter months.

Letter to the Fellow Eureka Spring Voters, as General Manager of the Basin Park & Crescent Hotels many have asked me to share my thoughts on one critical issue that is on the City of Eureka Springs ballot. Issue No.

To Whom It May Concern: I would like to thank the following people for helping with an eight-month saga to get the sewer replaced at 12 White Street. I will start with Simon Wiley at Public Works.

Prominent contributors to the income and well-being of this city have incurred massive infrastructural damage to their home due to the city’s lack of proper sewage infrastructure and neglect of care. For over 20 years, they have lovingly cared for their home and ultimately raised the property value. Now they are displaced from that home.
