After living in Florida for 23 years, Polly Blazakis was ready for a change. She’d never been to Eureka Springs, but she found herself drawn to it.

Eureka Springs High School has two state finalists for the Arts Across Arkansas competition. On March 30, these two students have the opportunity to win $250 to $1,000. In the literary arts category, the first four engaging chapters of Laynee DeJarnette’s story titled “Red Coat” is in the running and in the photography category, Chasia Cooper’s image titled “Beyond the Lines,” pictured above ‚ has been chosen as a finalist.

Carson Phelps was recognized by Jason Demoulin of Airgas as the junior Student of the Nine Weeks at the Connect Four Training for the Future program on Monday, March 5, in Berryville. Pictured from left to right are Dustin Wilson, Carson Phelps and Jason Demoulin.
