Ethel Izell Johnson of Springdale, Arkansas was born November 18, 1938, in Berryville to Henry and Dovie (Bartlett) Phillips. Izell passed away December 22, 2024, in Springdale at the age of 86.

Izell was a hostess at Myrtie Mae’s in Eureka Springs, Arkansas for 20 plus years. It was a career she enjoyed greatly, making many friends along the way.

June 6, 1959, Izell was united in marriage to Joe Johnson who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her children, Steve Johnson and wife Kim of Siloam Springs, Lisa Young and husband Tracy of Houston, Texas; grandsons, Sam Johnson and wife Melanie, Josh Johnson and wife Amber; great-grandchildren, Asher Johnson, Annika Johnson, Jackson Johnson, Thatcher Johnson; siblings, Betty (John) Martz, Virginia (Chris) King; along with other family members and friends.

Izell is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Dovie Phillips and siblings, Alpha (Dean) Phillips, Ollie (Wanda) Phillips, Erbie Savanah (Joe) Parkhill, Agnes (Charles) Mathis, Ines (Ray) Arnold, Pauline (Theordore) VerHeyen, Dottie (Shorty) Maloney, Martha Phillips.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025, at First Assembly of God Church in Eureka Springs with Pastor John Martz Jr. officiating.
