As part of its plan to establish an emergency shelter open to the public, the First United Methodist Church of Eureka Springs is raising money to install a generator to provide electricity and heat to the church when power is lost for an extended period.
The service to the community will serve as the first of its kind in the Eureka Springs area and will be available to anyone in need during times of disaster and catastrophe.
The cost of installing a generator is $30,000 and the public is encouraged to help the cause with donations of any size. Any gift will be tax-deductible.
Checks can be mailed to FUMCES, c/o Generator, 195 Huntsville Road, Eureka Springs, 72632. Cash or checks can also be dropped off to the church office at that address.
