Library Department Board hosts county-wide gathering

The Carroll County Library Department Board hosted a county- wide gathering for all the librarians and volunteers from the three libraries in the county on Tuesday, June 25, at the Eureka Springs Community Center so they could meet each other and share information and food.

This is the first time all the librarians and library volunteers have come together to meet each other.

The Bank of 1889 generously provided grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and the Friends of the Libraries and CAMALS Foundation funded the event, which included potato salad and baked beans, tres leches cakes from Pasteleria Morelia Bakery in Green Forest, and soft drinks and tea. All the attending librarians received gift boxes of fudge from Two Dumb Dames in Eureka Springs in appreciation for the work they do daily to make our libraries awesome.

More than 50 librarians, library board members and Friends volunteers attended, with many stating that they got to meet and learn from others across the county and that yearly events like this would benefit county-wide communication among the libraries and, in turn, benefit all the people in Carroll County.

Carroll County Library Department Board members are president Anita Engert, vice president Nancy Wood, Joe Hill, Peggy Lodewyks and Vicki Brown.
