Eureka Springs FFA students honored at state convention

Six Eureka Springs FFA students attended the annual state convention last week in Hot Springs.

Jonathan Bieschke, chapter president, received a State FFA Degree and the school’s chapter was honored with the Affiliated Award and National Chapter Award, adviser Sharon Fortson said.

“There’s so many hours and so much time and money that [Bieschke] had to invest in order to get his degree,” Fortson said. “It’s the highest degree that the state and association can give to its members.

Isabella Cooley accepted the school awards on behalf of the chapter.

“The chapter did so much, so many things in order to receive the [National Chapter Award],” Fortson said.

FFA students are already getting ready for the National FFA Convention and Expo, which will be held Nov. 1-4 in Indianapolis.

“I don’t know how many students we will take at this point, but they’ll go through the expo and have sessions involving colleges and careers,” Fortson said.
