Splash pad is next step for community center

After successfully raising capital for the new Highlander Room, slated to open in Summer 2023, the Eureka Springs Community Center Foundation has approved Phase II in the campus development plan for a splash pad.

Everyone is invited to the Kickoff Party Fundraising Campaign from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Community Center Marketplace with a celebration and lunch provided by Arvest Bank and Catered Creations. Bring the whole family out and learn how to get involved. The foundation’s fundraising team will be set up on location where they intend to build a splash pad and eventually a pavilion with restrooms and shaded gathering space.

“The timeframe to open the splash pad depends on how quickly we reach our fundraising goal,” said Eureka Springs Community Center Foundation board member Fatima VanZant. “Then, we will start to secure funding for a pavilion and restrooms, Phase III in the campus development plan.”

The foundation is actively seeking funding for Phase II and Phase III of the campus development plan. If you’d like to be a part of growing the community center, there are four ways to donate: bring your donation to the front desk at the community center and mark it Splash Pad or Pavilion; attend any of the community center’s fundraising events; drop a donation at Arvest Bank under the Eureka Springs Community Center Foundation account with Splash Pad in the memo line; or donate on the donate page of ESCommunity.org.

“We are excited to see everyone at the home of the future Splash Pad on Thursday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,” Van-Zant said. “Come see who is writing us our first big check! Join us for lunch and learn how you can help.”
