Carroll County Community Foundation announces Giving Tree Grant awards

The Carroll County Community Foundation Board of Directors presented GivingTree Grants to 10 local nonprofits on Thursday, Oct. 13. Giving Tree is Arkansas Community Foundation’s signature program that supports a broad range of causes across our county and state – everything from critical issues to art and education.

“It is all about local people making local decisions to support local issues,” said Janell Robertson, executive director of the Carroll County Community Foundation. “We usually have two distinct grant cycles. This is the first year that we have combined our Spring Youth Giving Tree Grant cycle and our Fall Giving Tree Grant cycle into one, larger grant cycle. We had a record number of applicants this year.”

Funds coming from the Carroll County Youth Endowment were used for programs focused on youth and children. Funds from the Carroll County Giving Tree Endowment were used to support a broad variety of issues within the county. Since 2001, these two endowments alone have granted out more than $500,000 locally.
