Kansas man dies after accident

A Kansas man died Saturday, Sept. 10, after he lost control of his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 62 west of Eureka Springs.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, Bobbie J Eastman, 47, of Arkansas City, Kan., was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson eastbound on 62 at 4:25 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. The motorcycle went across the highway and off the north side, hitting a mailbox and then a tree.

Eastman died of his injuries later that day, according to the report.

Denise M. Cooper, 46, also of Arkansas City, was a passenger on Eastman’s motorcycle and was injured in the accident, according to the report. She was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Eastman was the 408th person to die in an accident on an Arkansas roadway this year.
