The Arkansas Department of Transportation will conduct a Location and Design Public Hearing from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church at 195 Huntsville Road in Eureka Springs.
The purpose of the event is to present the design plans and Environmental Assessment for the proposed intersection improvements and pedestrian tunnel at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 23 and U.S. Highway 62 in Eureka Springs.
The city of Eureka Springs is partnering with the state transportation department to construct a roundabout at the 23/62 intersection, with a pedestrian and bicycle tunnel beneath the roundabout.
Design plans and an Environmental Assessment are available for public review and comment, online and in person, at the department of transportation’s district office at 4590 U.S. Highway 65 in Harrison, at Eureka Springs City Hall at 44 S. Main St. and at www.ardot.gov/publicmeetings. Website availability will end at 4:30 p.m.Thursday, April 17.
