Robert Lewis Clark

    Clark

Robert Lewis Clark of Berryville, Arkansas passed away peacefully at his home on March 7, 2025. Robert was born on June 20, 1950, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Grover Floyd and Anna Lee Clark.

Robert was a long time Eureka Springs resident, and spent many happy childhood years at Lake Lucerne where his father was employed. After graduation from Eureka Springs High School, he joined the Army and proudly served two tours of duty in Vietnam. When he returned to Eureka Springs he became a member of the Great Passion Play, and played many of those different characters through the years. He also took care of the animals which appeared in the play. After he left the Passion Play, many people remember his friendly face at the counter of Bunch’s Quick Check. Robert was a longtime student of the history of Eureka Springs. His hobby was collecting as many books as he could find on the subject. This library served him well when he created Eureka Tours in 1996. He was united in marriage to Cindy Ambrose in 1997, and together they took thousands of people on tour of the area. He was probably best known to the children of the area as Santa. He loved to see the happy smiles of the children that came to see him in the Basin Park and the Christmas Parade. He was also known as the Easter Bunny when spring arrived. He appeared in several movies, including The Blue and the Grey, and Mister Christmas. Robert enjoyed living life and brought joy to many people. Robert is survived by wife, Cindy Clark of Berryville; step-son, Matthew Myrick and wife Carol of Springfield, Missouri; step-daughter, Misty Myrick and wife Wendy of Willard, Missouri. Brother, Floyd Clark and wife Lovenia of Eureka Springs; brother, Bennie Clark and wife Linda of Eureka Springs; brother, David Clark of Berryville and brother, James Clark and wife Irene of Springdale, Arkansas. One brother-in-law, Joe Ambrose and Jenny of Steeleville, Missouri; sister- in-law, Betty Lynn and John Long of Berryville, Arkansas; and sister-in-law, Danette Ambrose and Tommy Joe Davis of Oak Grove. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, friends and relatives, all who will dearly miss him. Also surviving is one very faithful and loyal white German Shepherd (Dolly) that he rescued from the Good Shepherd Humane Society in Eureka Springs.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Grover Floyd Clark and Anna Lee Wilson.
