A proposed county ordinance that would imposed a one-year moratorium on the construction of industrial wind or solar energy facilities in Carroll County, which was voted down by the Carroll County Quorum Court in November 2023, was sponsored by District 2 Justice of the Peace Bruce Wright and District 7 JP Kellie Matt.

A report in the Jan. 30 issue of the Times-Echo misidentified the sponsor of the proposed ordinance.
