Five members of Eureka Springs High School’s Future Business Leaders of America traveled to Bubba’s BBQ on Wednesday, Oct. 30, to enjoy lunch and to learn about running a business from the manager, Kevin Tapia.
From Kevin, the students learned about the importance of hiring loyal and reliable employees, working hard, and finding fun within the workplace.
With hiring employees who are willing to work hard to maintain their jobs, Kevin mentioned that it is important to keep good employees. Kevin also discussed the economic requirements for a business in order to pay employees, pay for the product and pay for advertisements.
Another important mention was the location of the business. Kevin mentioned that successful businesses thrive off of foot traffic and Bubba’s is in the perfect location to be seen by all tourists traveling in and out of Eureka Spring!
At the end of the outing, Kevin took all the students into the back of the kitchen to see the “pit”,where all the meat is smoked by Kevin himself.
Eureka Springs High School FBLA president Elijah Redmon, vice president Holley Wood, treasurer Madeline Fisher, reporter Breanna Ray and member Ava Ohm visited Bubba’s. The FBLA adviser is Mrs. Billie Reed.
