Need is greater than ever as Scouting for Food Drive begins

To the Editor, Boy Scout Troop 67 will begin their annual Scouting for Food Drive this weekend by placing bags on the front doors of residences in the Eureka Springs area. This food drive is one of the major efforts of the Flint Street Fellowship Food Pantry each year. We generally receive enough non-perishable goods to last us through the winter months.

Our Food Pantry has been hard hit by the increase in grocery prices and our need is greater than ever. So far in 2024 we have added 287 new households to our client registry. These 287 households consist of 544 household members. We average 293 household visits per month compared to 219 in 2023.

Our need is greater than ever. When the Scouts drop off a collection bag, please reach into your hearts and help our mission. The Scouts will pick up bags on Nov. 9. Thank you for your help in the past, and we look forward to serving our community in the future.
