Deadlines approaching for tax payments, voter registration

Tuesday, Oct. 15, is the deadline for Carroll County residents to pay personal property and real estate taxes.

Taxes may be paid by mail, by phone, online or in person.

Payments made by mail should be postmarked by Oct. 15. To pay online, visit www. countyservice.net.

To pay in person, go to the Carroll County Tax Collector’s office in the courthouse annex at 108 Spring St. in Berryville. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payments may be made by credit card, with a 3.59 percent fee.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 5 general election is 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7. This deadline applies to new registrants. Voter registration may be completed at the Carroll County Clerk’s Office in the Eastern District Courthouse in Berryville. Completed voter registration forms may be dropped off in the clerk’s office in the Western District Courthouse in Eureka Springs. Forms must be completed, signed and dated.

Voters who may need to make address and/or name changes are encouraged to do so before early voting/ election day by dropping by the County Clerk’s office in Berryville, but these changes can be done at any time including on election day. Please expect to be at the vote center a few minutes longer than normal for poll workers to process the changes.
