The Daughters of the American Revolution rang the historic Eureka Springs fire bell in Basin Park for one minute at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, commemorating the signing of the U.S. Constitution 248 years ago. Bells were ringing at the same time nationwide. The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States was read afterward followed by Sharon Lawlor praying the Prayer for Our Nation by George Washington.
