To Whom It May Concern: I would like to thank the following people for helping with an eight-month saga to get the sewer replaced at 12 White Street.
I will start with Simon Wiley at Public Works. He suggested the company that was doing the excavation for the city water leaks. This was a huge first step.
C4 Excavation of Anderson, Mo., came to look at the job to be done and gave me an estimate. When they finished with the city’s work they sent a crew to start my project. I am very impressed with the professionalism of all the people with whom I had contact. The C4 crew was very accommodating and worked with the plumber and city to get this completed as quickly as possible. There were a lot of challenges while doing this replacement and everyone worked together to get it done correctly.
Jacob Coburn and Ed, the city inspectors, were helpful in working through the challenges that were discovered as the job progressed.
Keeping White Street open, while digging across the width of the street was a challenge. The Eureka Springs Transit Department was patient and understanding. The trolley was kept on schedule. I want to especially commend the skill of the trolley drivers for navigating the trolley through the construction area that had mere inches to spare at times.
My sincere thanks to Kim Stryker at City Hall for her patience and understanding. She issued the street closure permit after an explanation why half of the street had to be closed most of the time the work was being performed.
A special mention to Neal Plumb. He owns Arrowhead Plumbing in Berryville. Neal agreed to do the plumbing for this project but did so much more than put the pipe in the ditch. Neal was here many days to give advice and make decisions about how to progress when unexpected challenges were discovered. Neal worked with me, C4 and the inspectors to make this possible. My sincere thanks to Neal Plumb.
My final thank you goes to my neighbors and the public that travel White Street. Your understanding and sympathy is greatly appreciated. This was a very stressful time for me and your understanding of my predicament helped me keep my sanity.
I now have a functioning sewer line that is water-tight and worry- free. This is one small step to stopping sewage from seeping into our historic springs.
