Firefighters from all four Carroll County Western District fire departments gathered in Holiday Island on Saturday, April 20, for a fire academy sponsored basic auto extrication class. Included were members of the Grassy Knob, Inspiration Point, Eureka Springs and Holiday Island fire departments. Twenty students spent the day learning the basics of auto rescue and then took turns disassembling a minivan provided by Johnson’s Automotive. The attendees practiced with various types of extrication tools including the traditional ‘Jaws of Life.’ (Photo courtesy of Holiday Island Fire Department)
