No formal charges will be filed against a Eureka Springs man who was arrested in November on suspicion of rape and false imprisonment, prosecutors said Monday, March 11, in Carroll County Circuit Court.
Carroll County Circuit Judge Scott Jackson informed Charles Michael Manus that he was free to go after being advised by special prosecuting attorney Robbie Jones that the state would nor pursue criminal charges.
Manus was booked into the Carroll County Detention Center on Oct. 25, according to detention center records. He was released on bond three days later.
Manus’ arrest stemmed from an alleged incident that occurred after a school function in April, according to an Oct. 18 affidavit written by Eureka Springs police officer Hector Ramos.
Attorney Chris Flanagin represented Manus.
“I can tell you as his attorney that there’s no doubt in my mind he is completely innocent of the allegations, and we are very happy that the prosecutor made the right decision to not file any charges,” Flanagin said.
