Eureka Springs United Women in Faith recently presented donations presented to four local organizations in Berryville who serve the needs of children, women and youth:
• The Cradle, The Maturity Support Center of Carroll County Inc., is a volunteer organization providing services to women in all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and infant care with a thrift store available with baby items.
• Established in 2014, The Purple Flower Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Resource & Support Center seeks to provide resources, one-on-one support, services as feasible and empowerment to those who have been affected by domestic violence themselves, or who know someone who has been affected within Carroll County. The Purple Flower also works to prevent the occurrence of domestic violence in Carroll County by providing awareness and education to the public.
• Serving Carroll County children, from birth to 5 years, the Imagination Library of Carroll County is an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and a joint service program of the Rotary Clubs of Holiday Island, Eureka Springs, and Berryville that is set up under the Carroll County Youth Literacy Rotary Foundation. The mission is to improve pre-K literacy, achieve better educational outcomes, and strengthen family relationships through providing a home library of children’s books (one book per month per child) and encouraging reading together.
• Grandma’s House Children’s Advocacy Center in Berryville provides a safe place for child abuse victims and their families and serves seven counties in Arkansas: Baxter, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton and Searcy. It offers free forensic interviews, medical exams, therapy and step by step guidance through the healing process by coordinating the work of the police, prosecutors, and treatment specialist with the goals of renewals, prevention, and education.
