Live theater returns to Eureka Springs this December when the Eureka Springs Theatre Company (ESTC) performs four hilarious “radio plays” at Basecamp Event Venue on Thursday, Dec. 14, and Friday, Dec. 15.
“We have chosen four comedic plays that are holiday themed,” said Lisa Tricomi, artistic director for ESTC. “Each will be performed as a ‘radio production,’ complete with a Foley artist to add the sound effects.”
Those participating in the productions are Amber Bowman, Pearl Brick, Chaon Cross, Courtney Flournoy, Chuck Landis, Bill Ott, Chris Ritthaler, Lisa Tricomi and Sue Vernier- Moore.
On both nights the house opens at 6 p.m., with the curtain at 7. There will be two plays followed by a 15-minute intermission with music by Pearl Brick. The last two plays will follow the intermission.
“Basecamp will have a menu of food items for those who would like to come early and eat prior to the curtain going up,” added Tricomi, “as well as ‘adult beverages’ and non-alcoholic drinks. We very much appreciate Heather and Jeff Carter for making this wonderful facility available to us for these special holiday performances.”
Basecamp is located at 150 Passion Play Road with ample free parking. Admission is $10 per person and tickets will be available at the door.
“Eureka Springs is known as an arts community, and for too long, our local theatrical performing arts have been somewhat invisible,” Tricomi said. “This is our effort to get the ball rolling to add this artistic element to the wellknown ambiance to our arts community.”
