Turpentine Creek’s Smith named to Arkansas Travel Council

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge has announced the appointment of Miranda Smith, hospitality coordinator, to the Arkansas Travel Council.

The recognition was announced at the Arkansas Hospitality Association meeting held in July in Little Rock.

“[Smith’s] unwavering commitment to promoting tourism in the state, coupled with her extensive history of involvement with the AHA, renders her an ideal representative on the Arkansas Travel Council,” says a news release from Turpentine Creek on the appointment. “As a longstanding member of the AHA, Miranda has continually demonstrated her commitment to advancing the hospitality sector, showcasing innovative ideas, and fostering collaboration among industry professionals.”

Smith’s work at Turpentine Creek has enhanced the experience for guests, especially during the uncertain times during the peak of COVID-19, the organization’s release said.

“Under Miranda’s guidance, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge emerged as a beacon of safety and comfort, making it a sought-after destination for travelers seeking a tranquil escape amidst the chaos,” the release says. “Her strategic initiatives and innovative safety measures set a new standard for hospitality practices, solidifying her as a true hero in the industry.”

In addition to her new role on the Arkansas Travel Council, Smith is also on the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce Board and a member of the Eureka Springs Rotary Club.
