Cynthia Regina Ratliff Tjeerdema, was relieved of her suffering and found peace on July 27, 2023 as she was reunited with her beloved parents, John and Elizabeth Ratliff.
Born in Madrid, Spain on August 27, 1960, while her father served in the Air Force, she grew up in multiple states until his retirement and purchase of the family homestead in Beaver, Arkansas. A graduate of Eureka Springs, she easily made friends and was fiercely loyal to her tight circle of “sisters from another mother”. One of those friends, Susie Pouncey Wade remembers the deep love she had for family, how easily she could be moved to tears to hear of others’ pain and how she was loyal to a fault. Cindy’s fondest memories included time with her much loved horse, Friskie, and flying with her father in his small plane she affectionately named Baby Blue Lightning. She is survived by her partner, Sherl Gunnels; one brother, John “JR” Ratliff; four sisters, Debbie Willbanks, Mary Galindo, Patty Marler, Tina Taylor and 10 nieces and nephews she adored and always asked about.
Preceding her in death was her dear nephew, Dalton Johnson; brothers-inlaw, Tom Marler and Jose Galindo and her besties, Clementine Moncravie and Sue Ellen Adrian.
A private memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
