A Green Forest man was among three people killed in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 412 in Madison County on Saturday, July 22, while two Fayetteville men died in separate accidents the same day in Carroll County.
According to an Arkansas State Police report, Jacob Doss, 38, of Green Forest was a passenger in a 2022 Toyota driven by Tiffany Darity, 40, of Berryville that was eastbound on U.S. 412 at 9:20 p.m. Saturday. The report says a 2021 Honda driven by Chasitie Vandroof, 36, of Springdale was westbound when it attempted to pass a 2004 Chevrolet, also eastbound that was driven by Aaron Vasquezfigueroa, 18, of Rogers.
According to the report, Vandroof’s vehicle crossed the center line and hit Darity’s vehicle, which left the south side of the road and turned over multiple times. Vasquezfigueroa’s vehicle went off the north side of the highway and struck an embankment, the report says.
Doss and Vandroof died, along with a minor passenger in Vandroof’s vehicle whose age and gender were not listed in the report.
Darity and Vasquezfigueroa were injured, the report, says along with Fernando A. Montario, 32, of Rogers, a passenger in Vasquezfigueroa’s vehicle. The injured were taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Earlier the same day, William G. Howard, 29, of Fayetteville was riding a 2015 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Arkansas Highway 21 South at 12:27 p.m. when he collided with a northbound 2021 GMC Sierra whose driver is not identified in an ASP report. The GMC was turning left onto the highway from Bedford Falls Drive, the report says. The truck and motorcycle collided head-on and Howard was killed.
At 12:30 p.m., an ASP report says, 58-year-old Raymond Scott Kinnunen of Fayetteville was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on U.S. Highway 21 near County Road 207 in Eureka Springs when he lost control while approaching a vehicle that was slowing to turn left. Kinnunen fell off the motorcycle, the report says, and was struck by an eastbound 2008 Harley-Davidson ridden by Rendell S. Whitehead, 54, of Rogers.
Kinnunen was killed. According to the state police, 307 people have died in Arkansas traffic accidents this year.
