Memorial planned Friday for fire victims

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 7, for three members of a well-known Eureka Springs family who died in a house fire on Sunday, June 25.

Lynn Galyen, 84, was killed in the fire along with his wife, Dollie, 81. Their grandson, William “Willie” Lee Galyen, 31, also died after entering the home to try and rescue his grandparents.

The fire occurred at the home of Lynn and Dollie Galyen on Carroll County Road 3018, near the Eureka Springs School District campus.

Lynn and Dollie Galyen were the owners of Hart’s Family Center in Eureka Springs. The store will be closed from noon to 4 p.m. for Friday’s memorial.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have said there is no evidence of foul play.
