Dear Friends and Citizens, the Eureka Springs Historic Cemetery Commission wishes to inform the public of an ongoing security project at the cemetery that will soon be complete. The project involves the cemetery’s front entrance gate.

A new mechanism on the gate will automatically open and close the gates at set times. Cemetery hours are the same as always, open at dawn and closed at dusk. A lighted “Cemetery Closed” sign will alert visitors to the possibility that the gate is closed. Should a visitor be inside the cemetery when the gate is activated to close, that visitor will still be able to depart, since the sensor on the inside will open the gate when their vehicle approaches.

Visitors are allowed if the gate is open. If the lighted “Cemetery Closed” sign is on, it is alerting visitors that the gate is closed or may be closing soon.
