Two Highlanders named to All-State team

The Eureka Springs Highlanders, who reached the Class 3A state tournament, had two players on the boys all-state soccer team: senior Leo Alpizar Garcia and his younger brother, junior Jose Alpizar Garcia.

Local students make Dean’s List at NAC

Leonardo Alpizar Garcia, Jose Alpizar, Henry Farrar, Melissa Galyen, Sarah McHattie and Eliza Parkman, all of Eureka Springs, have been named to the Dean’s List for part-time students for the spring 2023 semester at North Arkansas College in Harrison.

To be named to the part-time Dean’s List, students were required to achieve a gradepoint average of 3.7 to 4.0 while completing six to 11 credit hours and to have accumulated 12 or more credit hours with a GPA of 3.7 or above.

All of the Eureka Springs students had GPAs of 4.0 for the spring 2023 semester.
