Daughters of American Revolution Pay Tribute

On Saturday, May 27, the Eureka Springs Abendschone Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution paid tribute at the Eureka Springs Cemetery to mark the graves of interred past chapter members. Patriotic floral arrangements and flags (with NSDAR logos) were placed next to the graves of Ruth Fuller Cross, her mother May Obenshain Fuller, Dorothy Fuller Mathews and long-standing member Fanny Henderson Russ. The Abendschone Chapter was organized Dec. 5, 1951, and named after Cross’ ancestor, Reinhold Abendschone. Also honored were five interred members at Holiday Island Community Church Memorial Garden — Janice Mills, Virginia Wicks, Cleo Roster, Nancy Naas and Ginger Malmstrom.
