A Missouri man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday, May 18, in Eureka Springs.

Dennis Gacus, 46, of Carl Junction, Mo., was riding a 2023 KTM motorcycle southbound on Arkansas Highway 23 at 3:45 p.m. when he attempted to negotiate a lefthand curve at a high rate of speed and struck the passenger side of a northbound 2014 Jeep that was turning left onto Carroll County Road 102, according to an Arkansas State Police report. Gacus was thrown from the motorcycle and killed.

The driver of the Jeep was not identified.

Gacus became the 208th person to die in an accident on Arkansas roadway this year, according to the ASP report.
