FRIDAYS Holiday programs at Carnegie Library

If you are looking to get into the holiday spirit, come on down to the Eureka Springs Carnegie Library the next few Fridays for some free family fun. This coming Friday, Dec. 2, you are invited to watch the Christmas Parade from the festively decorated Carnegie Library Garden at 5:30 p.m. with holiday music, hot cocoa, s’more making at fire pits and other treats. Next Friday, Dec. 9, young children and their families are welcomed to celebrate the annual children’s holiday party at 6 p.m. in the main library with games, food, a special holiday story time and an adventure through the book stacks. On Friday, Dec. 16, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., grade-school aged children are invited to come by the library after school lets out for winter break to receive a special wrapped gift from the library and enjoy snacks and a holiday story time with local author Ashley Wellman. SUNDAY, DEC. 4 Community Band concert

The Carroll County Community Band will present it annual Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Berryville High School’s Performing Arts Center.

The band performs two concerts a year — one in the spring and one in December — and funds raised through the events are used to help send local students to summer band camps.

Tickets to the concert can be purchased from band members. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m.

MONDAY, DEC. 5 Holiday Island blood drive

The Holiday Island Community Blood Drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Elks Lodge No. 1042 located at the Holiday Island shopping center at 4 Park Cliff Drive.

A free cholesterol screening also will take place at the event, which will include T-shirts for all donors.
