Documentary Film Series

The Carnegie Library’s annual documentary film series wraps up at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, in the Library Annex Meeting Room at 192 Spring Street. The final documentary film featured, “Slay the Dragon,” is about the secretive, high-tech gerrymandering initiative launched 10 years ago that threatens our democracy. Slay The Dragon follows everyday people as they fight to make their votes matter. This film is rated PG-13, and the runtime is 104 minutes. Popcorn and admission are free. Please note that while the library will be closed the day after Thanksgiving, this program will take place as planned in the meeting room. Holiday Island blood drive

The Holiday Island Community Blood Drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Elks Lodge No. 1042 located at the Holiday Island shopping center at 4 Park Cliff Drive.

A free cholesterol screening also will take place at the event, which will include T-shirts for all donors.
