Flu shot clinic
The Carroll County Health Unit in Berryville will hold a free flu shot clinic from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, as part of the Arkansas Fights the Flu program sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Health. The flu shot is available at no cost, but participants are asked to bring their insurance cards if they have one. The Carroll County Health Unit is located at 402 Hailey Road in Berryville. Purple Flower benefit
A benefit fundraiser for The Purple Flower resource and support center will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Hangout food truck park in Berryville. The event will be hosted by Dakota Logan, Libertarian candidate for District 3 state representative, and all Carroll County candidates have been invited to attend.

EUUF to feature animal shelter
“The Blessing of the Animals with Cole Wakefield,” executive e director of the Good Shepherd Humane Society will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 at Eureka Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 11 Elk St.

Holiday Island blood drive
The Holiday Island community blood drive will be held from 11 a.m., to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 at the Elks Lodge No. 1042, located at 4 Park Cliff Drive in the Holiday Island shopping center. A free cholesterol screening and Kansas City Chiefs T-shirt will be available for all participants.

Pancake breakfast
Basin Spring Lodge No. 386 Free and Accepted Masons will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the corner of Harvey and Tower streets in Eureka Springs. A full breakfast will be served. Tickets are $6 each and proceeds will benefit the Smead Walden Memorial Scholarship Fund for Eureka Springs students.
