“Since our affiliate was formed in 2001, we’ve cumulatively awarded over $1.3 million in grants from our 47 funds and endowment. Over $357,000 of that total came through our Fall Giving Tree grant cycles,” said Janell Robertson, executive director for the Carroll County Community Foundation. “This year we will be merging our spring and fall grant cycles into one – which will be more efficient for both the nonprofits and our local affiliate office.”

Going from two grant cycles a year to one larger grant cycle allows Carroll County Community Foundation to increase its grant range this year to $300 to $5,000.

Requests for all types of grants will be considered, but the Community Foundation is especially interested in awarding grants that address a broad range of issues within the county, as well as issues that pertain to youth and children.

Priority will be given to those nonprofits headquartered within the county.

Nonprofits can visit arcf.org/givingtree to view Giving Tree grant submission guidelines and criteria and to begin the easy, online application process.

Any IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, public school, government agency or hospital in names of counties is eligible to apply. Other applicants may be considered if the project has a clear charitable purpose for the public benefit.

Grants are not made to individuals or small businesses. Applications will be reviewed by a grantmaking committee made up of Carroll County Community Foundation Board members as well as local community leaders.

“Funding for the Giving Tree program comes from hundreds of Arkansas donors who support the work of the Community Foundation. Through these local grants, our state’s nonprofit organizations find support as they implement great ideas to improve their communities,” said Heather Larkin, president and CEO of the Community Foundation.

“Individuals, families, and businesses who donate to our Carroll County Giving Tree Endowment know that every dollar grows and gives back year after year, supporting local nonprofits doing great work for the people of local communities,” Robertson added. “They are making a difference and we are grateful for their trust and partnership.”
