Summer meals program

The Berryville School District will provide free meals to children through June 30.

This summer, meals will be served from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for breakfast and from 11 a.m. to noon for lunch Monday through Thursday at the intermediate cafeteria and middle school cafeteria. Meals may be picked up at the cafeteria back door.

JUNE 18

Truck pull planned

The Carroll County Junior Fair Board will host a truck pull fundraiser scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, June 18 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds in Berryville.

The Southern Missouri Truck and Tractor Pulling Association-sanctioned event will feature an X Factor sled and a Hometown class.

Admission to the event wil be $10 per person and free for children 10 and under. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. Concessions will be available onsite.

Puppet show

The Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library, located at 194 Spring St. in Eureka Springs, will host a “Bootsy and Friends” puppet show in the library garden. The all ages show is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

Free lunch

The Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library, located at 194 Spring St. in Eureka Springs, will offer a free lunch table on the sidewalk outside the Media Center Annex from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. for patrons of all ages, followed by a session of Game Overboard! In the Library Garden for children aged 9-12 beginning at 4 p.m.

Story, song hour

The Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library, located at 194 Spring St. in Eureka Springs, will offer a pre-k story and song hour in the Library Garden for children 6 and under. Beginning at 4 p.m., a craft workshop for children aged 7-18 will be held in the library garden.

LEGO Club

The LEGO Club, for children aged 4-18, will meet at 4 p.m. in the Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library garden, located at 194 Spring St. in Eureka Springs.

Pirate badminton

The Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library, located at 194 Spring St. in Eureka Springs, will offer Pirate Badminton for children and teens aged 11-18 beginning at 4 p.m. in the library garden.

JUNE 25

Grassy Knob fundraiser

The Grassy Knob Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a garage sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Grassy Knob Community Center, located at 12037 Arkansas Highway 187 in Eureka Springs.

A light lunch and bakery goods will be available for purchase the day of the sale.

All proceeds will benefit the Grassy Knob Volunteer Fire Department.

Writing workshop

The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow will present “Enough Space,” a virtual short story writing workshop for writers of all levels by “Illuminating Black Lives” fellowship winner, Lorraine Avila at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25.

Participants will explore the craft of flash fiction, work of extreme brevity that still offers character and plot development. The workshop will be on Zoom and will benefit the WCDH scholarship fund.
